I took out a consolidation loan with PPI in Sept 2000. I then re-consolidated this loan WITHOUT PPI in 2004. Do I have a claim?

Thanks in advance

Very best

  • Also, if it was ALPF, do I send it to Santander now?

You may have a problem here due to the year, some though on this site have won PPI from the 90s so if you have reasons for mis sell then put the claim in ask them to look at the previous loan too as this was consolidated, you never know they may look at these and redress.
    Who are ALPF?.

There is no 10 year rule. Some providers will destroy data after 6 years (or a period after that). Others will not. The further back you go in time the less likely paperwork will still exist. However, you don't know if you don't ask.

  • ALPF - Alliance and Leicester Personal Finance. The original loan was somewhere back in the 1990s, I consolidated in 1998, 2000 and the 2004. Then paid it off!! Only the very last one didn't have PPI.

Thank you again for your help with this xx

Do the claim with Santander, let them know these were A&L loans, give them the last loan number and see if they can find any info on the others, they may not but you can try.
  • I had a letter from northern rock head office saying they were searching their accounts and they noticed I had a mortgage with them in 2001 -2002 which I did, part was secured on other part was unsecured. I paid this off when getting my next house. They say there was ppi on this, so had to answer questions on whether i knew about ppi on this. Didnt have to give account numbers etc, so now just waiting for reply back as they said I may be entitled to something back.

  • I have the loan account numbers going back to 1998 - they're helpfully the reference number on the repayments on my bank statements.

Thanks for your help - I really appreciate it.
