I was downloading all my windows 7 security updates last night, amongst the updates I found an optional update which was recommended called “Intel HD graphics display” which will be an update for my Intel i3 processor.

But when I clicked on the more information link it couldn’t find the webpage, in the end I downloaded it along with all the security updates but I am still wondering what this particular update actually does, can anyone help.

Here is the link supplied –

Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics

Installation date: ‎09/‎05/‎2012 02:56

Installation status: Successful

Update type: Optional

Intel Corporation Display software update released in March,2012

it's an update to your graphics driver, not the processor. It will probably fix some bugs and improve stability.

GJ is correct...you will from time to time get updates for the hardware on your system - these are usually advisable to include.

A good iea to keep yr system as up-to-date as possible.

Sometimes graphics driver updates are as mundane as performace increases on specific games.

But does anyone know what that particular update was correcting
sometimes (just sometimes) all the icons on my desktop suddenly appear extra large when I wake the computer up from sleep mode - I was wondering if it was a fix for this

I doubt it...that's caused by windows rather than the gfx...
