Lost my protected bonus for a bogus claim - please help

I have today had an email from my car insurers saying they have removed my protected no claims bonus because I have made 2 claims in the last year.

I made a single claim in August last year.

In October somebody tried to claim against me for an incident of which I have no recall I was asked to comment and replied saying that I had noknowledge of the incident which was supported by an alleged witness statement with no time or date on it.

I responded disputing the claim or the incident. Nothing further happened until they have disallowed my no claims protection.

I need to renew my policy Please help.

So what are your insurer doing about the October claim?
Have you asked them? chased them? made a complaint about it?

They asked me to respond, which I did, saying that I don't know of the incident and noted that the alleged witness statement had no date or time on so how could I possibly recall. I further telephoned them, telling them how upset I am about this because I felt fitted up.
I have heard nothing more. They have not asked me for any excess, so I think it reasonable to assume that they were taking it no further.
I do not see the need to chase my insurer about a non existent incident.
I am trying to chase them now about the renewal but of course they are not answering the phone, just keeping me on hold on an 0844 number

THey will never ask you for an excess over a third party claim against you.

You do need to devote some effort to get to the bottom of this - write to them and ask them for the details of the second claim, then you can dispute it with them if you disagree with their reply, but if you fail to engage with them over this, then expect them to conclude the claim as they think fit - which it seems they have done!

To be honest, telephone them rather than write to them.

It could be the claim is simply still open which is why it is impacting your policy as any open policy is considered a fault claim until it is closed.

    This is just getting worse!
It would appear that the claim is still open, when I phoned the Insurance company they contacted the other insurer with a view to closing it.
However the independent assessor, who I permitted to look at my car, is now saying that there is a poorly matched paint job on my car and the insurance company is intending to settle - against me.
I have not had any paint work done on my car since this alleged incident, and am really really worried about it now.
    What can I do????

My car is 9 years old. It is possible that there has been old paint jobs done on it - although I think it looks perfect!

OP i well and truly confused now.
What happened about the claim from August? is it still open? If you are happy with the repairs then its got nothing to do with the assessor.

What did the insurance say regarding the bogus claim? Did they tell you they have rejected it?
    Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.

Sorry. The August claim is finished. I am happy with the work. It's probs a bit of a red herring.
They now are saying that they think, backed up by the independent assessor, that I have had a poor paint job done on the car since the alleged incident in October. Which I haven't. And there was no incident. But how can I prove I haven't had work done on
The car. They are asking me for receipts for work
    I havent had done !!!

Any record from the previous claim in August of the existing repair when they assessed it, or any photos taken at that time showing it?
