in Phones & TV
I have been with VM since 2008, and this year due to unforseen circumstnces changed my contract with them to get rid of tv and just have landline and internet. I did this just as my contract was due to expire after getting them to price match talktalk. I was told I would be paying £18.99 for all day calls and 10mb net. Perfect for my needs.
However in March I received a letter saying that my charges were being increased, furiously I called and to cut a long story short I had a discount aplied to my account which would keep it at the price they originally quoted. I complained on the grounds that they price matched me so I would stay with them as a loyal customer, and that I re agreed my contract with them in Feb and was not made aware then of the contract charges going up in april, which my parent's were made aware of in JAN!
Anyway, last week I had a call from VM saying they had to take that applied discount from my account as it is not a valid discount unless I was a business. I have said they offered me this and I accepted as I believe they are not holding to their side of the contract. They have offered to either put my package up for an extra £10 PM on top of what they have increased it to, or they will ignore my contract fee if I decide to pull out of the contract.
What should I do? I like having a landline as I think that it makes it easier for my son's school to get hold of me if they need to, but I cannot afford the set up costs with another phone company, I also require the internet at home as I am a college student.
Does anyone know of an organisation I get get in touch with to make VM honour their original quoted price?
Thanks in advance.
