Direct line are not renewing car insurance.

My Dad has had car insurance with Direct Line for about 5 years now with my Brother as a named driver and more recently with myself. Yesterday we got a letter, with no reason to say they are not renewing the insurance in June.
We have yet to speak to them but before then I wanted to seek advice on here. There's been a few problems lately, last year Direct Line got in touch and demanded an additional payment of around £400 because somehow my Brother was down as my Dad's spouse! Presumably it was like this since the beginning and they had just spotted the mistake - we didn't know either.
Anyway more recently in January, a careless driver bumped into the car whilst my Brother was driving it. He is going through a claim as I speak. Coincidently the other driver is insured with Direct Line too. We are very confused and upset and can't help but think that both are contributing factors but should not be. We will be making a telephone complaint followed by complaint letter.
Think ultimately the thing that's peeving my Brother off is, he's been building his no claims bonus under Dad as that was offer at the time so long as when he buys his own insurance the first year with Direct Line (this was the intention this year anyway).
Just trying to understand what's happened???

Phone and ask or just choose another company?
Did you pay the extra fee they asked for?
If he had a bump then he probably wont have earned any no claims anyway.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
You need to get to the bottom of why that have refused your renewal.
Normally insurers will ask about these sort of things when you go to buy new insurance.
If it's just something simple such as they no longer cover your post code area there should be no issue. But you need to find out.0
