Neighbours are mad!! What would you do?

Just be aware that any official action you take against the neighbours will have to be disclosed when you sell. Presumably if the neighbours have moved on by then, it won't be such an issue, but just want to make you aware.0

I agree you need to start keeping a record of what they do and when.
I wouldn't be happy about the dog mess. Are you able to fence off your part of the front garden?
I'm not sure there is much you can do about the trampoline except for the potted plants as already suggested. I'd try and avoid shutting the curtains as people like that will see it as a challenge and keep going!
In fact, I'd say the last thing you want to do is get in a 'headlock' with them as that's playing into their hands, given their history.
Contact your community policing team and ask them for advice about anti-social behaviour. That way you have the start of a paper trail if things escalate and they will also offer advise about keeping a record of events and when you can act etc.0 -

I would ignore them. Its probably their entertainment to fall out with people and have issues all the time so if you blank them they will stop. They will probably be gone soon anyway so its not worth risking a problem.
Could you put a low fence - just an ornamental 12 inch thing - to devide the grass ? Its not fair to have dog poo on there so I would challenge that. I would be tempted to buy them a pooper scooper and go round all aweet and nice and say you thought it would be helpful for them so they can clean the grass more easily!0 -

We have a couple living nearby who are lovely neighbours through the week but become a complete nightmare at weekends. Instead of walking their dog they just let it out the door to go wherever every friday and saturday night. Unfortunately for us our garden was their location of choice for toileting

We have small children and the whole risk factor of having this left in our garden was driving me to distraction  The pleasant approach fell on deaf ears and I was getting desperate so I took drastic action.
I was sprinkled a mix of cayenne, red, and black pepper on our front garden to prevent the dog coming in. This had to be repeatedly applied every time it rains and can be time consuming to begin but it works. I feel no guilt over any potential discomfort this process may have caused the dog as the owner should have kept it under control and out of my garden in the first place. After a few weeks I noticed that the dog gave our garden a wide berth!

Thank you very much for your replies. We have a tiny bamboo border which divides the front garden, the dogs just walk round it and carry on. After coming round yesterday and threatening my husband they sent me a text going on about how they want to live in peace and that it is just 'normal' family life, they said they didn't want our anger!!! I didn't bother to reply even though I badly wanted too!!
There idea of normal family life is getting tanked up, having a massive row with more expletives than I have ever heard, slamming every drawer, cupboard and door in the house then slamming up the stairs like they will go through!!
Whilst the child bounces on the trampoline gawping into our house to try and wind my daughter up!!
Anyway, will take all the suggestions on board, start making notes of incidents and of course keep the threatening text. I think ignoring them is the best option.
My Husband was just concerned that they will be bad mouthing us with lies to all and sundry - but then again I would presume most people who know them and for that matter us - know what they are like.:D0 -

do you generally just hand out your number to new neighbours regardless of how awful they may turn out to be?
change your number soonest so they cant wind you up with meaningless texts or annoying calls:)63 mortgage payments to go.

It's ironic that the majority of the practical solutions offered here - short of ignoring your neighbours - however admirable, will cost you time and money.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
