Halifax Mortgage PPI

Hi, anyone had any luck in reclaiming mortgage ppi from the Halifax. My claim is currently at 6 weeks but when I've spoken to them today was told that its still under investigation.

under investigation in many cases means in a queue.

theres nothing wrong with having mortgage ppi, its a monthly ppi. so unless you were not eligible for it or it was unsuitable you will be unsuccessful.

you might be lucky and they just auto uphold your complaint.

We tried to make a claim on it once but was fobbed off with them saying that we couldn't as my hubby was self employed (he'd broken his leg at the time). We was told that it was compulsory at the time we took out mortgage out and the application couldn't go ahead without it. He has always been self employed.
I thought that Halifax had stopped auto upholding too.

Those reasons are weak and many others would argue their corner. However, there is no indication that Halifax are still not auto paying on most PPI complaints. We have yet to see a TMPP on the PPI side get a rejection on this board. I bet you hope you don't buck that trend.

    * weak as halifax do cover self employed and a broken leg probably didnt involve being off work long enough to put a claim in. Leg break is about 5-8 weeks. I thin the Halifax plan was about 6 weeks on deferment. The verbal allegation is unprovable.

My husband was off for 9 months due to complications with it - wasn't just a normal leg break unfortunately.

This is for mortgage repayments insurance added onto our monthly charge and not TMPP. They pushed us into a separate TMPP package when we took a further advance with them
