I had similar a few years back when my then neighbours started complaining that the light from my bedroom was bouncing into the back room of their house.
Off their brand new conservatory!
Which got even better when after getting a solicitor's letter asking me to stop bothering them, I toddled down to the planning/building warrand dept and asked to see the docs. It turned out that their conservatory was a bit bigger than the one permitted and sited a little bit west of the one on the plans.
My considered response was "Tough !!!!!! - live with it" or we will go back to the planning dept and they never uttered another peep again.

The window sill of the house across from me has a round mirror on it and when the sun shines at the correct angle I get a beam of light onto my window and it is most annoying.0

But it is all in ISAs. You wouldn't want me to take money out of an ISA to buy a blind would you?
I recently ordered three roller blinds for sunny windows. They were £35, £38 and £45 for windows that range in size quite a lot. Most of the cost was in the flat cost - making the blind bigger made very little difference. This is for reasonable quality roller blinds - I use http://www.blindsuk.net/ - you can order free samples of the fabrics which is well worth doing in advance.
I chose a sheer white blind to keep the natural light from the sun but not the glare. You could also go for full black-out material to cut it out completely.
Are you suggesting that you can't find a spare £40 approx in your monthly budget but have managed to save quite a lot of money up in ISAs? If your budget really is that tight now, take the money out of the ISAs - it's what savings are for.0 -
