A little early I know but I like to spread the cost. I'm looking to book somewhere for a little family trip just before Christmas to get the kids excited ready for santa coming. We went to Butlins a few years ago just before xmas and it was nice but very over crowded. As we live in Leicester and Nottingham is not far away I was thinking of booking centreparcs (sherwood forest) this year but have never been to centreparcs. Can anyone recommend if its worth the money and do they make it all festive at xmas?
Failing that does anyone have any recommendations of short breaks over xmas for a family of 6?

Hi, we go to Whinfell Forrest every year for a trip before Christmas (usually last weekend in Nov as its cheaper - they hike the prices up a bit in December)
they do make the place Christmassy with fake snow on the chalet roofs, christmas tree/decorations etc in the village centre
Santas workshop where the kids get to see Santa and live reindeer outside!! And they have Christmas themed activities for the kids during the day
Gets us all in the mood for Christmas and I dont feel its any more expensive than through the rest of the year0 -
For the last three years we have been to Longleat CP in mid November and it is lovely, really gets you in the mood for Christmas with lights, carols, father Christmas and lots of snow, some of it real one year!!0

We take the kids (10, 8 & 4) to a Winter Wonderland break in Whinfell. We all love it. We went in Nov 2010 during the snow & it was pure magic!!!! Going again in november!0

Get a lodge near everything. If the weather is bad a 15-20 minute walk each way to the swimming pool is no fun.0

We went to Whinefell for actual Christmas last year. Had a fantastic and magical time. Going to see Santa on xmas eve was the icing on the cake. No real snow as it was really warm but lots of fake snow. Would love to go back this year0

My sister took her kids to Sherwood one year, we went for the day and it was beautiful! twinkly lights and snow everywhere, and it was very very festive. Book Father Christmas EARLY! my poor niece was sadly disappointed.0
