AliveNF6G-GLAN Motherboard issues

My boot up sequence is behaving oddly and I fear I am on the verge of a complete system failure. The symptoms are:

1. Full set of noises from within the PC but no beeps.
2. Instead of beeps there is a small "fritzing" noise at the appropriate points.
3. Boot up info is very faint on the screen and often disappears.
4. When booted up the machine runs perfectly with no hardware issues reported.

What have I done?

1. Researched the problem without conclusive result.
2. Downloaded the latest version of BIOS update which is the same as the version installed (P1.80) - no reinstallation done as yet.

Has anyone come across this issue before and able to offer any advice?
