There was that option on eBay Japan - domestic only sales. Unfortunately eBay exited the Japanese auction market years ago after ceding 99% market share to Yahoo mostly due to gross management incompetence. Similar thing happened in China, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Eastern Europe, etc. with eBay failing to gain market share by pushing US management and sales techniques down the local market's throat."Money is truthful. Anyone ever use yahoo auctions?
Never properly checked it out.
But as far as I could tell you had to actually list on yahoo Japan to appear on yahoo Japan and obviously it's all in Japanese so no chance of me figuring how to list.
There's one line of items I sell that 99% of the time get won by thai's, malaysian's, singaporean's etc and I know they are selling them on to the Japanese but haven't as yet figured a way to crack the Japanese market they really don't seem interested in ebay.
Oh and by the way I believe you can purchase "used" school girl's knickers from vending machines at Japanese tube stations along with live Stag beetles which they use for fighting.
This from a country where it's illegal to show pubic hair even in hardcore pornography.... bizzare.0 -

Here's a thought. First, locate some Japanese language students - either Japanese students learning English or Brits learning Japanese. Ask them to help you either translate your listings into Nihongo to list on Yahoo Japan, or alternately to help you find your competitor's listings so you can adapt them to your own use. Your best bet would be Japanese students as they probably have some experience buying at auction on Yahoo Japan as it's really popular. Anyway you should be able to come to a mutually-profitable arrangement for all concerned, and possibly crack the Japanese market from the UK.
I still have friends (and bank accounts) in Japan so they help me with selling desirable items on Yahoo Japan... very profitable! Be aware that PayPal isn't popular in Japan but like the UK almost everyone has a bank account. By the way, Lloyds TSB have a Tokyo branch office that deals solely with foreign exchange for Japanese and UK businesses - useful if you don't want to deal with Japanese banks.
Hope this helps!"Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0 -
