Hi All,

If I am interested in learning how to deal in shares, are there any training/academic courses which anyone can recommend please?

    usalim are you referring to the mechanics of buying and selling? Sort of how the markets work, interpretation of the sort of data you find in the FT, how dividends are paid, settlement dates, that kind of thing.

    or

    Investment strategies relating to how to select shares, apply buy/sell strategies, etc.

    You don't need a course, just read a couple of books or look at a few articles on Monevator then have a look at Interactive

    Hi,

    there are no guarantees when it comes to the stock market so its probably good to have a solid foundation of basic understanding when it comes to the stock markets. So reading some books on the subject cannot be a bad thing.

    If you are looking for something more advanced check out some technical analysis here, this could help.

    Thanks for your answer. I would like to think that I do have basic understanding but I dont feel it sufficient to make it to the Stock Exchange trading floor.....any recommendations?
