Wednesday 9th May - What small DFW things will you do today??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :money:

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :T

Morning all, hope everyone is well. I'm really struggling with this whole debt free thing at the moment. It's the 9th of the month and I'm skint already, still. On paper I can see I'm making a dent in this ridiculous debt I've got myself in to, but I'm so bored and frustrated of spending all day every day obsessing about money and debt payments. I know we're all in the same debt-riddled boat but just needed a rant!!

Anyway, onwards and upwards on the DFW journey:

* Check banks, still no sign of that refund
* Drive sensibly
* Lunch from home, dinner from stores.
* Lots of water at work (free and super good for me)

That's probably it, I'm in charge at work today as the boss if off so will be busy trying to keep the place afloat!

Have a good day all

S x
I have enough money for the rest of my life... as long as I never have to pay for anything again!

  • Morning all

Thanks for starting us off sunshine. Chin up... some days are tougher than others, and some days you need a tiny treat as well. I went out for pub lunch with my OH and kids the other day, which wasn't mse but was just what we needed. My debt free journey is still another 4 years, and I know that I need a break ocassionally.

Here's my little list for today.
    :p checked bank
:p planned nsd (I'm at work so too busy to spend)
    :p meals from stores
:p try and nag OH to get up, go out and enjoy the rare sunny day we have (I hate depression, such an awful selfish disease)
:p plough my way through my overflowing marking pile.

    Have a good day all

    Hi Everyone, Happy Hump-day :j

Sunshine - I know exactly how you are feeling, I had a mini breakdown at the weekend - blubbering mess all over the place, i'm sure my Boyfriend must wonder what on earth he has done to deserve me!! It is hard having to account for everything - it is my Birthday next Wednesday and I have already ear-marked my £20 Birthday Money on paying for my Car Insurance this month, no fancy cocktails for me this year!! As others have said though it will be so worth it in the end and we are all here to support eachother so feel free to rant anytime!

    So Today I will/have:
    • Lift into work
    • Breakfast from stores
    • Lots of free tea and water at work
    • Check Bank - Done, still skint :o
    • Check OnePoll - Done, Politics obviously not my strong point
    • Checked emails - Done, A lovely man from Nigeria wants to send me 1,000,000 GBP so I must send him my bank details shortly ;)
    • Lunch from stores - Sainsbuggys Value Quice and salad, yum
    • Walk to the gym after work
    • Dinner from stores - something exotic from the freezer (mini sausage rolls and beans perhaps...)
    • Apprentice and a spot of Ironing
Gosh I lead a Rock and Roll Lifestyle, I bet you guys can hardly keep up with me :rotfl:

    Have a good day all,

    Lots of love
