Cost to fit new toilet

I've got a quote of £200 to fit just a new toilet that I have already bought. Is this a reasonable quote? It includes getting a u bend eliminating an extra pipe.

100 to 200 is ok depending where you live.
simple enough job.Get some gorm.0 -
Had you thought about doing it yourself? It's a pretty straight forward job if you are replacing 'like for like'. If you already have a 'close coupled' cystern and pan, you could do it yourself. If you need any advice, let me know.0

£200 may seem a lot. Decent tradesmen are expensive, unfortunately cowboys cost more. I would be more interested in verifying the quality of his work."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Thanks for the replies. Well I definitely can't do it myself! I live in London so I guess this is the place where people would charge a lot more.
I have seen his work before and he's very good at decorating. I'll just stick with him as he's quite a nice man.0 -
glassia, I have got a very good guy in North London. He is extremely cheap & fitted a new toilet for me for £30 (no pipe work needed, just changed the bowl). I have sent you a PM.0

If you can get it for £30 then do it. £200 is way too much for what is the plumbing equvalent of changing a light fitting. If you don't have to move the pipes, it is really easy.0

I wish Money Saving Website would start a database of trustworthy mechanics, plumbers, electricians and then allow folks who use them to rate their services.
If folks are getting ripped off out there with dodgy traders, it would sure come in handy for a lot of people who desperately need to find the good one's.0 -

Why not start a thread & request it to be a sticky? I've got a good decorator, electrician & plumber I can add for the London area.0
