Entertainment includes going out to the pub, restaurants, etc. Looking at this its way too much and this is the first place I am looking to reduce my spending

Would I not be best to clear my MBNA card which runs out in October - £1700 on this and then focus on the remaing MBNA balance which is next April of the same amount before tackling my very low rate barclaycard?

Yes that has to really come down. You could easily half that and still have plenty of spending money.

Unless i am misreading something the October card isnt on your original list. Either way i would still pay off the barclaycard now and then once you start paying interest on the other one you can always transfer it across to the Barclaycard, they always have either a 0% deal of a life of balance deal from what i've seen (been with them for over 3 years)

Are you sure you only spend £80 a month on food for 2 of you and £480 on entertainment?

The food is for myself as I live with a flatmate. I started a spending diary this week which has really got me thinking about every penny spent. Hopefully by being more frugal I can pay more towards my cards and less on the finer things in life :(, but hey it wont be forever right

it should have been on the list as I have two different rates on it, ok my plan of action will change. hopefully come october my barclaycard will be on its way to being paid off and I can reasses. Part of me just wishes I had one card carrying the big value, as it is hard work juggling all these 'deals'

debt free date - May 2014 (fingers crossed) by which time my student loan should have finished and then comes the easy part, saving right? :j
