can they really tell you how you take your child to school? how do they check?

Newletters are sent home every week stating that children must be supervised by an adult on the playground, but a lot of parents ignore that. I've seen reception children walking in on their own and one little girl, no older than 6, even dropped her brother off at nursery with no parent in sight!

At home time though children are only let out once a parent arrives. Year 5 and above don't have to be accompanied.

Last year of primary school to prepare them for secondary school. We didn't live close enough to walk so I'd drive him part of the way then drop him off to walk the last bit. Prior to that I'd drop him 20 metres or so from the school gates, sometimes on the right side but sometimes not and he'd cross at the lights.

The last year of primary school i let my kids walk to school by themselves. Well i figured they would be going to high school by themselves so i'd break them in gently.

First half of year 6 i always walked them to school but met them about half way coming back. Second half of year 6 i would walk them half way there and let them walk all the way back. The last few weeks i let them walk to and from school by themselves.
