Purchase from Advanced MP3 Players

Hi everyone,
I'm having a very frustrating problem with 'Advanced MP3 Players'
I purchased some earphones, paid through Paypal.
When I queried where the item was, they told me it was sent to the address I entered on the checkout page.
It turns out it went to my old address, which was associated with my Paypal account (I've never had this problem before and use Paypal to pay for nearly everything as it saves me having to find my wallet and get my credit card out
). I can't remember all of the details of my old address, and haven't lived there in 5 or 6 years, so there's no way I would have randomly entered it into the checkout page.
So, I at this point, trying to get an easy resolution to the problem, I kind of thought it was partly my fault for having old details, and contacted the residents of my old flat to see if I could pick the item up from them. They were very helpful and said that they had actually returned it to the sender.
Well, I've tried to get hold of 'Advanced MP3 Players' via phone, email, online tickets and live chat - and don't get a response from any of them. When I call their number it just rings before saying something along the lines of 'This phone call is being diverted', then continues to ring even more.
I'm so frustrated, and the earphones weren't much money, it's just the principle of such shoddy customer service. I had another issue with another online shop for something else (another thread on it's way...!) and I'm fed up of getting ripped off.
If they don't answer me, I'm at a loss as to what I can do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this the website... https://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk
Whois gives an address of the website registrant in Scotland.
Maybe you could write a real letter?0 -
Yeah that is their website.
I could do, I suppose...and round it up to 5 methods of communication attempts
It looks like the business is run from someone's bedroom (and most possibly is), but I would have thought even if that was the case, someone would have picked up the phone or responded to an email over the last couple of weeks..
I'm all for giving smaller businesses a shot, rather than going straight to ebuyer, or amazon direct (ie not their marketplace users), but it seems that when there's a problem they would rather not speak to the customer to resolve, but rather ignore it...

Can you not raise a Paypal claim for goods not received? I had an order never arrive from Scholl and couldn't get any where with them (e-mails not replied to, phone number was for an overseas service centre who said all they could do was pass details on to Scholl but still never heard from them) so I claimed via paypal and think I got a refund 21 days later as Scholl didn't respond to Paypal either.0

Sounds like OP didn't update his address in Paypal so the goods would go to the address on file - his old one.
If thats the case then the seller did absolutely the right thing by sending the goods to the registered paypal address because sending to any other probably wouldn't be verified.
OP needs to remove that address from Paypal immediately and speak very nicely to Advanced MP3 because if I am right then its not their fault in any way.0 -
Well you did ask what you should do.techmaverick85 wrote: »
Write a letter, and as others have suggested correct your Paypal details NOW!!0 -

Hi guys
thanks for the replies.
Firstly, I think that if you enter your address into a checkout page for delivery, you would normally assume it would get sent there, and not to another address - Paypal was just the payment mechanism. But OK, fine what's done is done.
My query was in fact less about where the goods were sent - more about the fact they had been returned to the seller by the residents of my old flat, so in essence the seller has my item back and my money...
I've opened a Paypal case, and got a response from the seller, but they have again ignored the fact I'm not querying where the item went - I'm querying what happens now it was returned...0 -

You're missing something. You don't actually know that the seller has your headphones. You know that the people at your old address say they returned them, you don't know if they did or what means they used or whether the headphones arrived?
As such the seller's paypal defence could be that the goods were sent to the registered address ( as required), are received and not returned. As such they now are receiving demands for a refund, when they have carried out their part of the transaction.
Will be interesting to see what happens.0
