VAT on boiler

Hi, I'm not really sure which place to put this question, so I'm starting here. I've just had a gas boiler and radiators installed in my property. Can someone confirm what the VAT rate would be on a gas boiler? I'm sure I've read somewhere that such installations are at the reduced rate of VAT, but we have been charged 20% Can someone confirm if this is right or should it have been 5%
Many thanks

We had a quote early 2011 but never went through with it. A small element was at 5%, the rest at 20%.
It was broken down as:
20%:
1) To remove existing boiler and make good, then to install new boiler excluding price of boiler
2) Boiler Vaillant ecotec plus 415 condensing boiler "A" rated
3) flue kit and fittings
4) Quality control inspection (engineers visit before work commences) and condense trap run
5) Terminal guard for flue below 2.5mtr above ground
6) 11 mtrs of 22mm copper Gas feed plus electrical earth bonding
7) 9 lockshield valves
8) A MAGNA CLEAN dirt seperator partical filter to prevent build up of debris and sludge to protect system and boiler
9) Salamander water softener (magnetic so no need for replenishment)
10) Full chemical flush using chemical x 300 which will desludge the heating system then Hot and cold water flushing includes refilling system and re introducing inhibitor x 100 equivalent to fernox
5% VAT:
1) Replace y plan By Flow pack to include new wireless digital room stat as described above. 3 port motorised valve, cylinder thermostat,2 channel timer, pump, wiring, pipework and plumbing
2) 7 Thermostatic radiator valves
So to be charged all at 20% VAT sounds right to me.0 -
