On friday my sister came to pick me up from work. (The back of my work is a non parking zone). As she was turning around and came to a stop a private parking company worker jumped out and ticketed her. (it was a total of 2 mins from stopping to the parking ticket being placed on her car). all the signs are clear and she knew she shouldnt of stopped there. So my question is should we pay up or try and fight it so see what happens. At the moment the ticket is 125.00 but if paid before friday it goes down to 75.00.
Thank you in advance for any replies.

Don't pay. They have no legal power to fine anyone, especially if she was just turning the car around. Ignore their letters and don't pay them a penny!"You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

'It goes down'= bargain! LOL! :rotfl:
Stop taking it seriously, it's a scam like any phishing email!
Why not check out the letter chains in our sticky thread called 'PPC letters & threats'. See the last line of my signature, just one click and you are back at the thread index and you want the second-to-top thread. Also watch the Watchdog clip on that info thread.
Then you will KNOW this matter does go down to zero (when you've ignored all the letters and the scam is over).
Next time, laugh at the goons jumping out (as long as there are no clamping signs there). I would laugh in the face of any PPC goon putting a ticket on my car, a round of applause would be in order and then a loud discussion for the benefit of bystanders, about it being a well know scam already outed by Watchdog several times.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thats an expensive place to turn around
good news for you is that you don't have to pay it as mentioned above.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
What bunch of deadheads was this then?
Maybe they thought your sister had "MUG" tattooed on her forehead.
Fight it? Don't bother. That's what they want you to do, so that they can bully you, or rather her.
"Fighting" consists of binning each and every one of the garbage letters they send her. Then, as Sir Roger confirms, the amount demanded creeps up.... and up..... Whoa, the bailiffs are on their way..... they are going to kidnap your cat if you don't pay.....
till all of a sudden it drops to £0.00 when they decide that she was not, in fact, an idiot who would fall for such an obvious scam and then they stop wasting money writing only to get no response.
No response is the one they can't deal with. So, just ignore them. What banana bunch was this? Keep in touch if you're the nervous type, Shell, but ignoring them works, I am on over 80 ignored tickets and counting.... half the companies don't bother to write to me any more.
Anyway what was the question? Answer- don't you dare even think about paying. Otherwise I will send you an invoice for £125 (reduced to £75 if you pay me by Friday). See how ridiculous it all is?0 -
brave pondlife jumping out, could have been knocked over if the driver failed to notice the sudden appearance , could have been even worse if the driver then failed to realise they had knocked the pondlife over and continued to do a three point turn over what they assumed was a sleeping policeman/ramp0
