When I go to Thailand on holiday, rather than use my D/C to withdraw cash from an ATM, would I be better withdrawing cash on my Zero card and then straight away transferring the money from my D/C account to pay off the Zero balance?
TIA
Yes, unless you have one of the very few debit cards that don''t charge nor load foreign transactions.
I wouldn't panic about doing the transfer immediately. A few days' interest isn't very much. If mixing purchases and ATM withdrawals, then best to pay off the entire balance - or at the very least any balance remaining from your previous statement plus the amount of the ATM withdrawal.
Still take your debit card/a second CC. Zero can get blocked sometimes.
Have a nice trip to Thailand, I'm quite envious. I'll be changing flights in Bangkok on Monday - probably for the 10th time this year and yet haven't managed to escape into the country for a few years. Quite frustrating.0 -

In addition to the reply above, don't forget the 150 baht charge from most ATMs. The alternative are AEON machines or over the counter in a bank.0 -
Thanks chappy and nifty,in the good old days I used a Nationwide Flex and no charge from the Thais with my debit card, or maybe 15 baht, now it's a financial armageddon out there.
Some nice lounges at BKK where you can pay a few quid to enter even if flying economy.
Fortunately I do have a card or two to take with me, last February I had 5 missed calls from Santander, I eventually rang and someone was trying to get some money out of my account from Vietnam, the security from Santander worked this time and I cancelled the card with no loss to me, hence a Plan B and C.0 -

Should you be flying EVA LHR-BKK or are otherwise in BKK, same time as me... I can get you into EVA's lounge at BKK or the AA lounge at LHR on my diamond card - no charge at all! PM me your dates.
