Probably not, but the dealer can sue you for his losses once the car is re-possessed by the HP company.

I doubt that you'll go to jail, but be prepared for a visit from the dealer and his burly mates when he gets round to running an HPI check!

Seriously, the car is not yours to sell if it is on HP. You have committed fraud. If you have made more than half the payments then you may be able to hand it back. Why don't you get some advice on debt management from the CAB or one of the other debt charities?

If the dealer went to the police then yes you could be arrested for fraud.

Don't do it - it'll make things worse in the long run.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Chances are they will have done an HPI check in the meantime, and will realise there is outstanding finance on it.

I'd save yourself the hassle and not even bother. Speak to CAB/CCCS regarding your debt and come up with a more long term solution.

What do you mean 'if' you're found out for fraud. It's 100% certain you will be found out, and very, very quickly.

You ask if you will go to jail - if you do, then the not so nice name you've given yourself will be a help - you'll have one in the corner of the cell!!!

Coward!!!...Some poor sole is going to lose a car or money just so you can continue your lifestyle... how selfish is that? You are going to get caught at some stage so i hope it is sooner rather than later....sort yourself out as you need good financial advice.. phone debtplan or cccs.
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

No he has not committed fraud. He is on the cusp of committing fraud. The distinction is important to make, because he can walk away from making a mistake at any time up to swapping the keys for the cash.

Good point. And if this person has an ounce of common sense that is exactly what they will do.
