How to correct HSBC credit file data

I had (closed last month) an HSBC current account.

Sky attempted to take a DD from it, incorrectly, and it bounced as there were not enough funds. Sky have admitted it was an error and they should have taken it from another account.

HSBC have recorded a '1' on my credit file, which I would like to get amended as it is incorrect.

My question is does anyone know if there is a best department to write to or a phone number to ring to get this done?

Put your case to The Data Controller at HSBC, doubt they'll change it though.

You need to speak to them, the likelihood is they wont remove it because it is not their mistake.
