Well I do anyway.
Performance targets and services available down and prices up severely. We have a choice with this this - if you don't like it go elsewhere!
My particular gripe is with a pair of small car light bulbs sent out second class post at a cost of £1.33 for a little under 100 grams. Handed to sub post office too late on Saturday 28th April, so franked 30th April. In the meantime the new rates had come in - £2.20 for anything up to 750 grams. Post office missed this and I get charged or rather my customer gets charged and then passes on to me £1.87 for underpayment and fine.
Some might say it's my fault but what organisation brings in a price rise on the last day of a month?

What day do you propose would be better to implement a price increase, and how would that stop the issue you encountered?<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

some would say?
what about thew months notice beforehand?0 -
Aren't the PO staff at fault here? Shouldn't they advise on this especially if the parcel was handed over after the PO's last collection that day?In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

Thanks for the replies.
It would be possible for me to get money back and I may approach RM CS at Plymouth as suggested. My post lady took this little parcel in as a favour and I will cheerfully pay the charge rather than embarrass her.
Outragious increases in areas where there is no potential for competition at the moment. Bearing in mind the steadily increasing cost of postage over the years how can nearly 40% on a second class stamp be justified.
Post offices closing down, postmen under increasing pressure - where is the money going?stevew8975 wrote: »What day do you propose would be better to implement a price increase, and how would that stop the issue you encountered?
Quite simply by implementing at the start of the month rather than the end which as it happens would have been a Tuesday rather than a Monday.0 -

Here - http://www.royalmail.com/customer-service/universal-service
And this has a bit to do with it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downstream_access
And most likely something to do with this - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13765645<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
So basically Steve a 4% drop in Mail volumes leads to to 40% rise in the cost of the most basic postage.0
