Can anyone answer somethign for me?
I have fallen behind with my Aqua card due to my partner being made redundant now they won't set up a payment plan without going through a full expenditure and income with me, even down to what I pay in busfares each month. Surely they can't be privy to all this information? I really don't like the idea of them knowing how much I pay my mum back each month as she helped me through uni, etc.
Why can't I just give them anincome and expendure amount?

Hi,
I've worked in collections and we ask as some people just lie! So that's why they ask for all the details. If you genuinely can't pay, then be honest. They aren't going to judge you, but if you're paying £100 a month on take-aways & £50 clothes or Xbox games expect a harsh reply. If you are struggling to make ends meet you should receive a realistic payment plan. At the end of the day you are asking to break the terms so giving them all the info in return for a lower payment plan is a good deal IMO. They could simply say no and send you to default, so try to not take it personally

If you want to pay them less than is required, it's understandable that they ask why, to see that it is justified.
They won't be discussing how much you pay your mum in the office.0
