A worrying trend?

Options
There have been a number of threads detailing examples of goods or services provided, but bills not sent.

I am talking about the ‘I haven’t received a Gas/Electricty/Water/Phone bill for 3 years and now they want me to pay’ or ‘I was wrongly credited with £x and now they want it back’ posts. It is usually accompanied by a reason why they cannot afford to pay.

These posts usually bring forth a flurry of replies detailing methods of evading payment. The usual justification being ‘after all it was their mistake’

Worrying, worrying!

I have a certain amount of sympathy for those who really didn't realize there was a problem. Or who have so many other problems this one slipped through. I have a bit more sympathy for those who are treated badly by the companies owed the money. But, and lets be honest, if you didn't get a bill for three years, and knew it, I don't think this forum should assist you to evade payment.

Help sort out a repayment you can handle, yes.
Help sort out problems with errors that caused an under payment, yes.
    Help evade payment, no.

    Just my opinion.
    Regards

The individual has to take their share of responsibility in my opinion.

You should have a tighter grip on your own finances so that you know what's happening and if a bill hasn't been received.

Too much of the blame culture in this country today. We should take responsibility for ourselves more whilst of course pursuing companies etc. who don't provide a proper service.

    Just my opinion. :)
