Working from home ideas...

I currently have a decent job, a bit too much stress and not quite enough pay, but isn't that true of most jobs ;)

However I have decided that if at all possible I can I want to work from home mainly to help reduce my carbon footprint :) It would mean I can get shot of the 2nd car and only use my OHs when I need to at the weekend. But... What work can I do from home? I've never worked from home so this is new territory for me. My current salary is about £25k before tax (obviously a fair bit gets eaten by running a car... fuel, maintenace, tax and the dreaded insurance) so this should save me a few thousand a year too...

So are there any jobs working from home that you can think of that would enable me to earn a half decent income or am I living in cloudcuckoo land with this dream?

    What skills do you have?

How much space do you have to work from home?

    This may be a help

Well I work as a technical support supervisor (although after a meeting the other day my job role has been split as there was too much to do. All staff training will be passed to someone else and I will specialise more on Account management, client relationships and basically keeping a very important client happy with the figures we produce. I still have a lot of day to day duties to ensure we retain our high service levels but I can hand over any agent training and development to someone else.) I come from a technical back ground but mainly I guess I have people skills and organisational skills.
I looked at moving into things like wedding co-ordinating but this wouldn't help me reduce my carbon footprint :S but I am very good at organising events.
I can speak 3 languages and write two...
I can type fast, pack envelopes, walk dogs... loads of stuff that is probably irrelevant :)

    Translation service?

    Dog walking/ pet sitting?

IT support - this would probably not reduce your carbon footprint as you'd be out on visits

Might be worth contacting Business Link (assuming you are in England) although I doubt any of these will replicate your salary. How much do you need to live on - rheotorical question, not expecting you to post that here:D

Well dog walking has reared it's head but I just can't see how I can make enough money from it... not unless I get a LOT of dogs to walk... mind you it would certainly help with my "get fit" regime :rotfl:

    translation... is a possibility

as for how much do I need to live on... well that is a jolly good question lol!!!
