Access your email account via the TalkTalk web site; you should be able to clear your inbox from there.

The easiest way would be as post #2 says - go to webmail and delete them.
To stop it happening again, you need to untick the box that says 'leave messages on the server'
It used to be in tools/internet options in Outlook Express, but I don't use WinMail so, can't help there sorry!

Hold your horses - could just be an almighty boo-boo on the part of TalkTalk; there's no telling what's actually going on at this point.
  • Cheers ive done that and it seems to have stopped all the downloading!!
  • Never ever had anything like that happen!! Got to 4800 emails going back to 2009!

Give 'em a call sometime - they might be able to tell you what happened.

Depends on how you set up connection on Windows Live. If set as IMAP connection, emails will be retained on server anyway, if set as POP then emails just get downloaded and come off server UNLESS you have ticked to leave them on server.

    Exactly as we both suggested?
  • Yes logged on to talk talk mail through their site instead of through windows live mail. Changed my password and it seems to have stopped downloading.

Guess its one of those things!
