Faulty Item - who pays return postage?

Hi
I bought a jacket of a high-street store's ebay auction but it has turned out to be faulty (description said item was perfect). They've agreed to accept a return but I will only be refunded what I paid and not the postage that I will have to pay to send the item back. Surely, that's not right? I could understand if I had simply changed my mind but that's clearly not the case. Anyone dealt with anything similar before? Thanks!!

A good seller should refund your return postage if the item is faulty when it arrived although Ebay nor Paypal can enforce this.0

Thanks. I'll contact them tomorrow and see what they say. It's quite annoying really because if I was to buy the same item from their non-ebay store I'm sure they would cover it without hesitation. In fact they would probably send the courier round to pick the parcel up whereas now I have to catch a bus in my lunch hour to get to the nearest post office!0

They are legally obliged to have item collected or pay for return if they are at fault. Tell them you want it collecting as it is faulty. If you don't get anywhere contact your local Trading Standards.billa_champion wrote: »In fact they would probably send the courier round to pick the parcel up whereas now I have to catch a bus in my lunch hour to get to the nearest post office!.0 -
