It was my birthday on Saturday (1 yr unti my 50th!) and I couldnt believe my mum & two sons had clubbed together and bought me a new IPad! Thrilled to bits!
It was bought at the Apple shop, so has a one year guarantee - shame they didn't go to John Lewis but never mind!
I know im covered on my home insurance but after 2 burglarys & a bad water leak (last 3 yrs were jinxed!) my premiums are sky high & I wouldn't want to claim on it.
Should I take out the extended warranty with Apple or go for gadget insurance? I'm too worried about breaking it etc not to have cover although I doubt if it will be out of the house that often!
Any advice would be welcome.

Hi,
I am having the same dilemma as yourself. I have had a quick browse and from the little information I have I think it may be better to get it insured rather than the extended warranty.
I looked at protectyourbubble.com and it costs £4.88 per month (£58.56 for a year) to insure the new iPad and it's covered for:
Accidental Damage, Liquid Damage, Theft, Breakdown, Worldwide Cover and Tagbak reward and return service. It DOES NOT include loss.
The Apple Care costs £69.99 for a year and only covers "breakdown".
I would preferrably like a policy that includes loss. Anyone with information on the best value for money insurance would really help.0 -
