Help! Outstanding car insurance claim - where can I get a reasonable quote?

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.
I had an accident at the end of January which was my fault. There was no damage to my car, but the other driver is now trying to claim for minor damage to her vehicle and "exacerbation of a back injury" (which both I and my insurance company believe to be somewhat far-fetched). I have admitted liability and am waiting on the claim to be resolved.
The problem is that my car insurance is due for renewal mid-March (next week in fact), and I don't think the claim will have been resolved by then. The renewal premium I've received from my insurance company is over £1600!!! 100% more than I was paying previously, which apparently is standard practice where there's an open claim. My no claims is also on hold.
There's no way I want to renew my insurance at that price, but I've looked around at a few online insurance quotes and none of them give the option of selecting 'open claim' when giving claims history. I'll probably start ringing around different companies later today, but in the meantime do you think it'll make any difference? Do you think all insurance companies will give me outrageous quotes just because I have an unresolved claim? Does anyone have any experience with this?
Please help!
