Avoid at all costs........... very untrustworthy company.....

Have had a few dealings with them but every time they mess something up....

Our last experience, we ordered 20 plasterboards and was promised they would come the next day.... we had a plasterer on site waiting for the materials but after waiting almost all day we finally called them and was told someone called Volley would call us back....

We waited for the call but never heard anything so we called them at 4.30pm only to find that they had closed for the day even though their website said they was open until 5pm

Thinking we would have to wait until the morning we was shocked when Travis Perkins rang us telling us that they had forgot to send out the order and that it would be sent 1st thing the following day and that they would refund some money to a1 which they could pass on to us...

Speaking to Volley the next day he said he would let us know when TP had refunded him but to date have not had any response from him despite emailing him a number of times....

Dont be fooled by "Volley's" lies.... he will tell you anything to get rid of you.... very disappointing service...

Hope this helps others so they dont get ripped off by a1building.co.uk

So what are they? Some kind of useless waste of space middleman and not a builder's merchant at all? Might as well go to Travis Perkins yourself and be done with it. TP will be very pleased to give you a trade card and deal with you direct, as will other builder's merchants.

So why didn't you walk away after the first instance?

Clearly an internet shopfront then - well it has to be with next day delivery FOC to anywhere in UK !!!!!!. As DVS says why not deal local and just avoid the middleman?

I think there's more to this story than meets the eye and OP protesteth too much.

I cannot think of any good reason for going on the internet for plaster boards. At least with a local merchant you can go and see them. What you are doing is to introduce a middleman unnecessarily.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
