single premium

Hi guys,
Is having a single premium a good enough reason on its own for trying to claim a refund of PPi. When i took my loan out in 2008 and although i would have needed insurance, i was not told it would be a single premium, neither was i told it was optional or that i could purchase from another provider.
Having looked at the T&Cs it also says " if you purchase optional insurance you authorise us to pay the insurance premium to the insurance provider in a way they ask us to pay. " As i did mine over the phone they should have a recording of the conversation to prove what was said and what was'nt. As a result of the single premium being added at the start it added allmost 33% to the total loan. Does anyone think i still have a cause to complain.
any feedback would be greatful. thanks

Complaints about single premium PPI where the premium is added to the loan are almost impossible to defend at FOS.
The fact that the T&C says its option works against you but would not be decisive at FOS.
That you could have purchased from somebody else won't help you.
But as I say the single premium will almost certainly lead to a complaint being upheld.0
