    Hi all,

    I feel sooooo stupid!
Ive had a spendy weekend! And feel awful!
    I bought
-pictures for my living room and 2 x eye drops and summit mum needed which they paid for £16
    - new toothbrush, paste, hay for hammy and mouthwash £6
    - 2 x pairs of jeans £10
    - lipstick and body lotion £10
but the biggest spend was the night with the girls £17
I have £11 to last the rest of the month :( doesnt seem much but I dont need much.
Ive had to borrow £10 to ensure I stayed in the black on my account, so hopefully I'll put this back.
I need shoes for my sisters wedding but I should be able to wait until next month. Oh well back to no spending again! Maybe this is how I thrive!

    Hi all,
    Me again.
its 2 weeks to payday and I have £30 to my name spare. Not like I can really spend it.
£10 is with mum, waiting for the weekend of the 23rd as Im going in to manchester with the girls to see the olympic flame event thing and then to go for drinks and head home on the last train - so I ill have to use some of this money for that.
£20 is in the bank - going to try not to spend it.
I bought my friends birthday present the other day and my fathers day present - got good deals on both.
I have to go to another friends house tomorrow for my friends birthday, but Ill walk there, use my £2 voucher to go towards some wine to take, and have a little change in my pocket for a taxi home - Im not joining them in town as I really hate the place at night and I'd rather come home.
So I think I will last until at least the end of the month!! :)

    Hi all,

Just read back from that last post and 10 days later I can’t tell you where the £30 I had has gone. I can account for £10. It’s become a mythical £10 that I probably won’t receive. I have essentially paid for my sister invitations and I won’t see the money ever again. I can just be grateful that the bridesmaid dress I will wear for her wedding - I can keep after and it is the type of dress I could wear again.
    I don’t know where the other £20 went :(

However I have totalled up all non essential spending for the month and it’s been shocking!

    It works out as:
£45.07 Wasted on rubbish or can’t even remember what I bought
£15.88 On my sisters wedding, that I won’t get back
£2.99 on Hamster medication (was essential as he is much better and happier and considering he's only a baby - It was worth it)
£26.26 on clothing and a picture for the house
    A grand total of £90.20!

If I knock off the hammy medicine that could have been £87.21 of my debts!
Seems like a waste when the debt is only £269 - I could have cut it by an extra 1/3!
Why of why did I spend this on rubbish :(
From now on I resolve to have a spending diary on me at all times to stop from happening ever again.

Its also even more gutting that I need £110 to sort out my computer to make it more work efficient and by result I have had to take out another 0% interest free for 15 months credit card. The only good thing is that this card won't have as much going on it - so it should be cleared faster than the one I have now which about to run out on the 0% deal.

    Anyways
Off to go wallow in the fact I’ve wasted all my money!

    PAYDAY!!!
    I love payday.
The best time of the month - for 5 minutes before everything goes pop, pop, pop out of my account!
The major difference with this payday to all of the others, is that i dont have a mad rush feeling of wanting to run into a shop and spend. I think (and I hope) that im losing the ability to spend.
I want to be able to look at the end of the month and see loads left that I can throw at my credit cards... I can dream.
But this month I hopefully wont have to dream - It will be a reality.

I have started a spending diary... I love the idea of everytime I spend, logging it in to a book, to then be able to say at the end of each week/month what actually was a waste of money and know not to buy it again.

Up to now the only pennies out of my account have been bills. The worse thing is that payday is more often than not, next to a weekend, which is when I get the temptation to take my debit card for a walk. Maybe next time i'll take the dog instead! :)

Also - fab time of the year - July is one of the only months where I dont have to buy anything! No birthday, no special days and no temptations! I love it!

Hope im feeling this perky about things for the next couple of weeks. Maybe I need to get addicted to this website instead of shopping.

Hi, just a thought but do you really need the jeans? I'm sure most shops would take them back if you still have the receipt then you could really treat yourself once you've got more spare cash! X

    Hi Veg,
I would take the jeans back, however I've worn both pairs and it is obvious so I dont think its an option anymore.

Im in a better position this month. Its been 3 days since payday and I've only filled my car (out of the budget) as it was running on fumes and I bought some hair dye and Germolene. Hair dye as my hair looked wet when it was dry due to the difference in colour at the roots. Ive got back to a dark ruby shade as I feel happier this colour instead of a brunette. My shade of brown was really dull. I could never get the nice chocolate shade....
The germolene and dye came to a grand total of..... £3.29!!!

So very cheap weekend. Intend to keep the rest of the month like this!

Its seems like 5 minutes ago I started this diary and yet ive managed to negotiated (though hard work, and having to go with out alot of things I wanted) my debt down to the tiny sum of £164 :) That doesn't include this months minimum payment of £25, but that is sitting in my bank waiting to come off the total.

It feel amazing that in less than 2 months it will all be gone :D

If I can carry on the way I have, Im hoping it will be gone quicker but a girl can dream can't she!

I've had hardly spent anything this month - I think maybe a tenner since payday last Friday, which considering the way I used to be, is amazing!

I have no need to spend anything for the next week or so, so i'm hoping I can maybe make it £20 or £30 total spends for the month. I may budget £30 and use it as a challenge to try to come in under......

Off now to go read a few other diaries to inspire me to keep on track

    Hi All

Me again, Long time no write!
Ive had everything change since I last wrote...

My Tesco card has now been upped :( No so great.
I bought new clothes :D for work as I was wearing stuff that was too small :(

Spend about £100 so my new CC Total to clear by September is now £282.46. I think ive worked out the means to do it... using my new 0% interest card.

Ive worked out with everything I want to buy on this new card, without Stocktake overtime going on and no extra saved each month - ie spending everything left over, then the first card will be cleared in September and the second card will be cleared by April 2013.

    Not tooo bad!

Each month I also have budgetted to pay for my food, which im not currently doing. With will start next month and please my mother!

My new clothes seem to have changed my attitude in a big way and I'm now feeling more positive! Still gotta live by the mantra of Do I want it, Do I need it and Can I afford it! Things are looking good! x

    Hi all,
Its been a while since I last wrote.
I am now purchasing my own food each week now, currently averaging £8 per week on my essentials which is amazing. It is just me so I am quite chuffed at this.
Then again I am still taking food from my mother but its little and not often.
Payday is a week tomorrow and i've budgeted to make the last payment on the credit card so i'm quite chuffed that it will be cleared - preferably before the bill comes in and that will mean that there won't be a end of month payment :)
My new credit card is not on direct debit but only because I hate the though of payments coming at the end of the month. I just pay the bill the day it comes in and then its done with :D
I hope that come October, things will ease a little in order to start making payments in to a savings account.
Im going to speak to my parents as well, because I was supposed to up my mortgage to pay the full amount, however I am hoping that if they allow it, and can cope with how we have been until the new year (my one year anniversary of being in my flat) then I can jumpstart my savings, my Christmas pot and clear my new credit card :) The card after 3 months of having it is currently sitting at £400 which is quite upsetting and I refuse to let it go much higher.
I dont want to struggle anymore.
Anyways until next time, Good Luck to all the debt busters out there! x

  • Hi all,

    Just a quick update.
Tesco CC is clear and i'm happy about that - only problem is that my other credit card (Interest free ) is currently sitting at £569 with car insurance due to pop on it soon, plus a tank of fuel before payday needs to be added :(
Means I now have another credit card to try to clear before I start saving - double :( - good news will be that once the insurance is on the card - the card gets taken out of my hands so I cant add anymore to it and hopefully i'll find the incentive watching it go down rather than creep up.
Good news is that i'm carrying on paying reduced rent to dad as he said "Well it was you who wanted to up the payments, I'm happy with them as they are" which means I can carry on throwing £100 per month or more at the card to clear it faster. I dont want it to be 15 months before its clear.
Food shopping (buying everything myself) sort of wiped me out for the month however i have full cupboards and freezer and only need to top up on fridge stuff.
Had my sisters hen party last week and came in exactly on budget so no owing anyone now :)
Another slight bit of good news is that my boss has been on holiday this last 2 weeks and I've had a rough time of it (sounds bad) but when I gave him an update he said he would speak to the MD about a bonus - I hope he follows though as this will go straight off the card!

    Anyways fingers crossed.

    X
