Parking Eye

Hi, I recently got a parking ticket from Parking Eye, I was away from my car for the free 30 minutes but returned to my car and waited for a friend for a further 30 minutes, a few days later I returned to the car park I was at and there's no signs about waiting. I've been reading past threads on these scammers and watched the YouTube clip from Watchdog and I would happily ignore the rest of the letters they'll send me but I'm just a little weary that it'll get me into more trouble.

I would just like a little reassurance that I wont be in the wrong here?

Thanks alot

You're not in the wrong. Ignore it. Ignore all the letters they send you afterwards, eventually they will go away. Have a look at the letters you can expect; there's a thread near the top of the forum by Crabman, in alphabetical order of PPCs - scroll to Parking Eye and have a look. Then play bingo as the letters come in :)

Was it a pay and display car-park?
Then you will probably owe whatever the stated charge was for 1 hours parking, so if it's £1 per hour then you owe the landowner £1.

If it's a free car-park then you don't owe them anything

You won't get into trouble. If you assume that everything you will be told by them is a lie, then you will be spot on with your assumption. All you will get is a few boringly predictable letters after which they will leave you in peace. Don't waste time or effort trying to contact or reason with them. Never works. Just pretend it never happened.
