Is it possible to view my new ipod touch 8GB over HDMI on our TV?

I know you can do it with the ipad is it the same HDMI cable needed?

Thanks mate, but I'm still none the wiser.

Been trying argos and some phone, electric shops. No Apple shops near me, I know I should just order from Amazon or some place, but I want to know it will work before I buy it.

It got the better of me and had to have a look.

    iPod AV Cable
(part number M9765G) for 5th generation.

*Looks like all generations can use this one as well as Ipad thingies
    Apple Composite AV Cable
    (part number MB129LL)

Dont bother with this one its only 480p output.

Your Apple links are all goosed. ;)

Something like this from Amazon looks like what is needed. Not HDMI, but your TV will likely have RCA/Phono inputs anyway. :)

Gimmie half an hour (dinner making supposedly!) and I'll test it with my old itouch.
I know what part you mean, I've got it for my ipad, so will have a try.

    Edited to add results:
Using the HDMI cable adaptor bought for iPad, regular bog standard £3 off ebay HDMI cable.
iTouch 3rd Gen : Does not support this accessory. (BUT it's iOS: 5.0.1; has an update, but not got around to doing it)
iTouch 4th Gen: Doesn't allow you to view it on screen (like the ipad, when not playing) But does play music (black screen) and will play video full screen with likes of You Tube. Says connected to TV at that point with video. Can't try actual video playback as I don't have any proper videos on it. (latest iOs)

Just in case you wonder why I have two. Battery is useless in 3rd gen, and I got offered a 4th gen very cheap 2nd hand (same size as my 3rd gen one, so no brainer there!)

    Hope this helps!

N.B on my iPad which also has an iOS update to do, I'm lazy! it doesn't play things like Buzz HD full screen on the TV (just ipad sized, which is only about an inch off the width of the TV tested for me) But will play with native apps full size. So the real apple video player is full screen for example.
