Norway logistics for a wedding

I need to travel to Norway for a wedding on 27th July (first time in Norway) and it's in the Tvedestrand/Stamnes region. I wonder if someone could offer some advice on an efficient way of doing this which preferably includes direct flights and single train or buses.

Airports i can travel from in UK are:

Manchester
Leeds/Bradford
East Mids
Birmingham

I am guessing that Oslo is the best place to fly to, but which of the many airports and how to get to Tvedestrand from there, train, bus, car rental.

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

PS I am on a budget.

for cheap flights look at norwegian.com.
also take a look at visit norway, always very helpful.
take lots of money with you- we have been a couple of times to oslo and love it there.

    I've been Money Tipped!
You may already be aware, (posting this in case you are not), but Norway is one of the most expensive places to visit on Earth. I went there with work recently and the cost of a drink and eating out is extortionate, (compared to UK prices). If you're on a budget then you need to plan more than just flights/travel.

Thank you. That is what i feared. I went to Sweden a few years back and found that expensive, but i heard Norway was even more so.

I have just been told that for where i am heading the best way is to get a bus because the train does not go all the way.

the public transport in norway is so much better than here. cheaper and runs on time for a start.
yes norway is incredibly expensive, so take plenty of money, and then a little bit more ha ha.
we havent used norgwegian.com myself, but my brother flew with them and my uncle who lives in norway has used them lots and he has to travel frequently from oslo to the northern end of norway for work and they have both said they are fab to travel with

Don't forget to use your duty free allowance ;) Traditionally, Norwegian weddings don't have a free bar (some have wine with the meal for the guests). Have fun :)

Can anyone recommend an 'affordable' hotel at
Gardermoen airport? My flight gets in late and i need to spend one night there before travelling to Tvedestrand the following day.

DON'T OFFER TO BUY A ROUND OF DRINKS!

I used to travel to Norway a lot on business, a 'friend' was there
at the airport to meet me and always stuck out his hand.....
