You said he is a long time poster with no history of "spam". He's got 11 posts which hardly makes him an established posterand he repeatedly advertises his own site.
At the time I made my post he had done it TWICE. Twice in four years! What else is spam if its not advertising?
You should not accuse people of doing something if you do not even know what it is.
Spam is repeatedly posting something that is off topic where it is posted. As his (admittedly advertising) post was on topic it was not spam.I see you've gone back to personal insults when you are losing an argument.
I didn't insult you.
I just warned you that you will get a reputation as a liar if you continue to post things that you've made up. You said:
"he's only ever done 11 posts and almost all suggest going to his website."
And yet only four of the eleven even mentioned the website referred to in his post in this thread. That is not "almost all".

Wrong, at the time you posted on this thread he had posted the same thing four times, unless the posting history is lying?Stop misquoting and making things up to support your argument.
This seems to apply more to you ...0 -
well now you are lying. Just a quick look at his history shows all his posts were placed before yours.
Anyone with half a brain can see he's not been on this site for years and has logged on today for the sole purpose of advertising his website. I have no problem with advertising, but he has not stated he runs the site which is dishonest.
I believe it is wrong for posters to advertise their companies like this on MSE. How can you trust peoples advice if their is a danger that the advice is not real and is just a way of plugging your company.
To be honest I am surprised at your stance on this as despite my low opinion of you I thought you would be against these sort of underhand tactics on this site. If you are allowed to post links to your companies as long as its on topic then this site will go to the dogs. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. No, I mistakenly said my post when I meant his post (on this thread). There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Please explain how you can tell that someone has not been on the site for years. You may use you whole brain if you wish.
If you cannot explain that, admit that you have again just made something up.I have no problem with advertising, but he has not stated he runs the site which is dishonest. To be honest I am surprised at your stance on this as despite my low opinion of you I thought you would be against these sort of underhand tactics on this site. If he keeps doing it, then I agree.
I just didn't feel that he was 'busted' when the site mentioned in this thread was absolutely on topic and he had been a member for four years.
I dare say that the moderators will have a word with him if he continues. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

click on his name and view all posts. There are 4 today and nothing before that since 2009. Its not rocket science.

Apart from it being against MSE rules to advertise, they also do not allow links to be posted by posters with under 10 posts. How many posts has Ian got.
His posts are also breaking consumer laws0 -

you said: "Anyone with half a brain can see he's not been on this site for years"
Clue: You can come on the site and not post. You have no way of knowing how often he comes here.
Just admit that you made it up.Just admit you've made a mistake and move on
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
First you said that 'almost all' his posts mentioned the website when that is not the case.
Then you said he hadn't been here for years which is something you have no way of knowing.
That's two demonstrably false statements you've pulled out of thin air. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
