Trip to Cardiff

Hiya Everyone...

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of some good value accommodation in or near Cardiff for a family of three. Have to go, Friday 13th July til Sunday 15th July.

I went to uni there, got married there and my son was born there - now 13 though!! And we've not been back for ten years. An old friend is getting her baby Christened and we thought we'd make a long weekend of it, but struggling to find good deal for a place to stay. Premier Inn and Travel inn coming out at 166 squid!! b+b's coming out at £270!!! Any advise and suggestions appreciated

Thanks

Travelodge Whitchurch (The Masons Pub on Manor Way/ North Cardiff) is quoting £109 for the two nights.
Travelodge Llanedeyrn (A48 East Cardiff) is quoting £125 for the two nights.
Also try the Legacy Hotel in Tongwynlais. Right on the M4/A470 and 10 minutes into central Cardiff. Never stayed their myself but its quoting £95.

The Holiday Inn Express at Newport is apparently 20 minutes from Cardiff city centre and is £29.50 per family room, per night for the dates you want including breakfast for your dates on the 2for 1 booking link. Breakfast at the HI expresses I have stayed at consist of a help yourself buffet of scrambled eggs, sausages, beans, toast, spreads, tea, coffee, juice, muffins, cereals and crossants.

My daughter is at Cardiff Uni so we stay regularly:

Travelodge Whitchurch (The Masons Pub on Manor Way/ North Cardiff) is quoting £109 for the two nights.

Has a great carvery attached, this is not a normal style Travelodge and the rooms are a very good size. Good pub and reasonable prices.

Travelodge Llanedeyrn (A48 East Cardiff) is quoting £125 for the two nights.

Has a Harvester nearby...rooms standard Travelodge type - funny smell here when we stayed sort of damp smell.

    Etap is awful!!

This is the best place we have stayed at its new and really nicely decorated

If you want a great breakfast head for Louis Restaurant in the town centre opposite O'Neils and near Millenium Stadium - brilliant.

There's a bus stop opposite the hotel with a regular service to Cardiff, takes 20-30 mins
