ITS that time of year again,,plenty more holidays will go on credit cards this year..but the kids must have a holiday abroad!!! we went to rhyl..oh dear i have admitted to that online..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

My first holiday was saved up for for a year, OH, son and I went to Butlins in Filey,

These young 'uns seem to want it all and want it now.

You just have to look at other threads, by the time some of these are in their 20/30s they are with debt management companies, stoney broke and in debt into the tens of thousands.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Sell stuff! It is the only way as a minor if your parents won't help out. Get selling games, other stuff to friends or shops. I can't blame you for wanting to go away with friends, I can't blame you for studying hard, I can't blame you for not wanting to ask parents, but one of those three has to give.

Maybe ask parents/relations to advance you birthday/christmas money??

I think most people have answered your question.

You are under 18 and therefore unable to take out credit legally in the UK.

    Your only options are:
    1) bank of mum and dad
    2) friends or other family
    3) selling things on eBay

How long have you known this needed to be paid this week? You may need to lose the £200 and put this down to experience.

I bet you in the future you won't make the same mistake again :)

OP as you are a minor you have no liability at all to the group leader or yourself - so walk away from this now. Tell them you do not have the money and don't go.
The booking leader who I presume is over 18 should have been aware of the dangers of booking on your behalf.

    well you could

go carwashing - take your own buckets and sponges and knock on doors
    mow lawns for elderly neighbours

odd jobs like that, as you are at school, shouldn't be a problem.

Do you have any income at all - you're going to need more money for spending etc

My lad has, in the past, bought chocolate and cans and sold them at school - multipack of Mars bars - 4 for a £ - sell 'em for, say 40p each.

Mind you I think the canteen at school got wise and something was said - whatever it was it wasn't serious enough for me to be called in. And if I had been I would have expected at least some respect for his entrepreneurial skils :rotfl:

I'm thinking one more week and I'd have the resources to get 250 pounds.

Where is this money coming from in a week?

You have no sense, if you can't afford the holiday do not go. simple logic. I want a big car, i know if i go and get credit i wont be able to afford the repayments in the future. Kids these days eh.

Loads of people right now know they SHOULD have cut their grass, but haven't got round to it.... find people in your street whose grass looks like it needs cutting. You could get £10 for cutting a fairly small lawn - and use their mower.

If you're going to sell your stuff - you could try selling it to your parents, then buy it back from them to repay the loan. That way you're not selling stuff off cheap and they've got security.
