    Thanks, you are right, it's not exactly fun being a landlord!

    I've had somebody contact me that wants to view my flat so there is a chance it could sell as long as it's the right offer.

    This would leave me with the capital, so I could buy somewhere else in the town centre location I'd prefer to live, or I could use the money in some other way and just house share.

    Either way I think what I have learned is that I only want to be paying around £325 for a house share or a mortgage with interest of the same figure, as this is the maximum the council will allow me if I did become out of work.

    In reply to Suziesue, the only problem I have living at parents is the location, I'd love to be in walking distance of the town centre, so many things to do. My parents place is right out in the suburbs, the village is 10 mins walk and not much there just a few pubs I'd rather avoid, a couple of co-ops/bookies and not much else. Also only buses here, in the town centre I could get on a train. I know most people have a car but I don't really want one.
