    how have you connected it?

if by usb then maybe yuare using usb 1.0 port instead of usb 2?

I've got 6 USB ports. Shouldnt they all be USB 2?
The PC is about 3 yrs old.
Is there a fast way to print photos?

If you're printing at photo quality, I'd expect it to take minutes to print each photo. Unless your photos are very high resolution, I doubt the USB port is the cause.

Just to make sure, you could try:
    - transferring the picture on to a memory card and printing straight from the memory card, to eliminate USB as a problem.
    - printing in draft quality: the same amount of data will be sent, but if it's quicker in draft quality then the speed of data transfer's not a problem and it is just that photo printing takes a long time

I bought one yesterday from Argos and received then DCP 310CN which is a better model with built in networking, I read loads about this printer yesterday and it gets rave reviews from the users and the inks are some on the cheapest according again to the users of it

    Go for it...!

We also got this yesterday, but i've been wondering if this means we won't be able to get the 2 years extra warranty as that model isn't listed on the website.

True, i'd tend to agree.. however this is for my mum who's a pensioner so the longer it lasts her the better.

I may get in touch with brother about it. I'll report back if i find out. :)
