Is there a fast way to print photos?
If you're printing at photo quality, I'd expect it to take minutes to print each photo. Unless your photos are very high resolution, I doubt the USB port is the cause.
Just to make sure, you could try:
- transferring the picture on to a memory card and printing straight from the memory card, to eliminate USB as a problem.
- printing in draft quality: the same amount of data will be sent, but if it's quicker in draft quality then the speed of data transfer's not a problem and it is just that photo printing takes a long time0 -

dont know about that but tbh im not all that bothered for £40 as Im sure something bigger/better and cheaper will be available should it break in 18 months

True, i'd tend to agree.. however this is for my mum who's a pensioner so the longer it lasts her the better.
