I really hope they can do something on Monday as I can't afford to waste £20 on chicken :eek:0

Be nice to them and ask if they'll help, it gets you much more than going off at the deep end MOS, It's not an unreasonable request to expect food that is fit to eat for your money and it might be a dodgy batch of chicken anyway and maybe you're not the only one?0

They have always been really helpful in the past giving my vegetarian Daughter some great recipes to use Tofu for so I am hoping everything will be OK0 -
I read your title wrong - silly brain totally skipped "chicken".
Def time to go to bed!:j got married 3rd May 2013 :beer:0 -
Mrs LW, thank you so much for your advise on what to do with my chicken pieces. The shop rang this morning and said if I can take it down to them with the receipt they would exchange it for me. So I popped in on the way back from dropping my DD off and now have a replacement 5kg tub of chicken breasts. Just going to wrap them individually and freeze them now :j
Without your advise, I would probably have thrown them in the bin and just taken the £20 loss on the chin x0 -
MOS well done, it's always lovely to resolve problems amicably, diplomacy usually works so very well done you!!!0

This morning at about 11.30 I picked up some cooked chicken slices, cooked salmon fillets, both vacuum sealed and a sealed tub of smoked salmon pate.
Things happened and I ended up being in a warm room then a tram with them in my shopping bag until 5.30pm before getting them in a fridge. I can't decide now whether they will be safe to eat. Would you throw them or eat them?0 -
Personally, I would keep the smoked salmon pate - I reckon all that processing of the salmon and being smoked would help prolong its ability to be eaten when kept at room tempatures. If you suspect it tastes a little off, def bin then.
I wouldn't attempt the cooked chicken or salmon fillets.
And of course if you or anyone at the dinnertable is pregnant, very young, elderly, not well etc, don't risk the pate.:j got married 3rd May 2013 :beer:0 -

Just me and DH for eating them, but I think you might be right. The Salmon (roasted fillets in chilli and lime) and the chicken slices had a sell by of 17 Sept, but the pate was 4th Oct, suggesting more processing like you said, so probably safer. Thanks.0
