Stafford to Edinburgh transport Any help!?

Hi there,
I got myself a couple of nights in Edinburgh the last week in September in the last travelodge sale, im just left needing to sort transport out.
I knew it would be expensive but an open return on the train from Stafford to central Edinburgh is costing £105 :eek:but with good times. I looked for flights which do come in at arounf £70 each but once you add on the charges and the transport to and from the airport its about the same and more hassle!
Does anyone know of any way of getting the train cheaper? Splitting the journey maybe? We travel on the last sat in september and come back on the Monday? Iv also looked at national express coaches - the time it takes to get there did not go down well with dear fiance!!

The same, but to get from Stafford to BHX is going to add on £15.30 plus rushing from station to airport ..Simplify and then Simplify some more!0

You are far too early for cheap rail tickets - it will be at least 2 months before they are released.
