Need to buy a tv - budget ~£250

Hi, sorry if this isn't the right place, but can anyone help me choose a new TV? My budget is around £250 pounds (possibly stretching to about £300 but ideally not). I have no idea what features I'm looking for etc.

I want to use it for playing my playstation 3 and would like free view included if possible.

I walked into a pc world the other day and was pleasantly surprised by what I could possibly get for my budget, but I can't really see the same things on amazon which seems a bit more expensive surprisingly?!

Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Have you decided what screen size you need/ I use ebuyer a lot - eg http://www.ebuyer.com/search?sort=pricelow&store=36&cat=133&filtersubcat=2353&limit=10&page=1

Well i can tell straight away 1 feature your after is HDMI slot for the ps3 unless you want to continue using scart.

    Freeview or freeview HD ?

    What screen size ? 22, 27, 32

Id suggest looking at richer sounds or john lewis

John lewis you can get a free 5 year warranty or richer sounds its a 10% cost of the tv.

We have just (2 months) replaced one for our PS3/gaming room.

LG LED 26 ", 3 HDMI, USB ports (26LV250) nice slim job with a crisp picture. Cost around £230 (£280 elsewhere at the time and a similar differential for other LED TVs) from RGB Direct, delivered next day.

Nice thing about it uses about 33% of the electric that the old L:CD, of same size, used so great for hours of fun.

Did consider some of the budget ones out their for a bit less, Hannspree, F&H glad we went for this one.

That looks good value too especailly 1080p in 32" - I had a bee in my bonnet about LED/power consumption that's all.

The John Lewis call is a good one we have sourced 3 large screens through them, only one for us - the gurantee and the fact they can be very competitive.

I did look at Richer sounds but their price match policy was restrictive IMO. That said at £200 -£250 I can't get too stressed over warranties.
