Zam Buk is THE best ointment. I have used it since I was little ( am now over 60) I thought it was not available these days, as you can't find it in the regular chemists, and then a few years ago I saw you can order it on line. I cannot recommend it highly enough, brilliant for nasty finger cuts.

Interesting. There seem to be different formulations of Zam-Buk in different parts of the world, and the version made by Rose and sold on Amazon isn't the same as the original.

eBay have the original version, but it comes from places like Thailand, where it's made by the multi-national Bayer. Slightly more expensive, but a larger pack.

The main difference seems to be that the version made in the UK doesn't have one of the main original ingredients in it - Colophony (Rosin). Quite possibly because of asthma implications. Whether it's effective without that, who knows, but Rose and Co's claim that their version is the same as the original looks very doubtful.

    That is interesting, thank you.

I'm going to give this Rose & Co version a try as it still has many good reviews (assuming that the reviews do actually relate to the Rose & Co formulation). This UK-made Rose & Co version has been one of Amazon's bestsellers for ages now so I'm hopeful that it will actually do what it says on the tin! :)

If you have a baby/small child rub this on the site just after a vaccination. Works a miracle...

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Rose & Co version of Zam-Buk.... i.e. the product Amazon sells?

Or the other version sold on eBay?

Amazon's own stock has run out (now says dispatch within 1-2 months!) but Pharmacy Place is still selling the same Rose & Co product via Amazon for the same price - £2.85 delivered.

I have been ordering Zam Buk direct from Rose and Co for years. To be quite honest I didn't know and haven't noticed any difference from the original. It's still a great product and wouldn't be without my little tins of the green ointment..
