Mad Printing Problem :(

Guys,

anyone help with this one, got me tearing my hair out....

printer connected to pc, 2 user accounts. On the main user acct, printing pictures from windows picture viewer has just stopped, just printing a black image. Other user account - fine, no probs. I spent hours on this call, and still couldn't figure it out. All settings the same on both accounts, coloured text prints fine on the affected account, and you can print pics on the affected user account by opening the image in photoshop, paint, etc.

I suspected a corrupt windows pic viewer, but it's fine on the other user account :mad:

So, whilst there's a work-around, it's bugging me

Any suggestions anyone ?? Brother MFC J6510 al-in one...

tried reinstalling the printer software?? An update with a glitch may have happened. Had a similar thing with an epson printer before that would print one day not the next, then fine again reinstall cleared the problem.

If not a printer issue it could well be a corrupt profile, maybe set up a new account to test if it works transfer everything from the old corrupt account to the new working account.

Failing that what version of [STRIKE]Linux[/STRIKE]Windows have you got? (You know the rules :rotfl:Download HJT, Malwarebytes post the results here).
On a serious note (yeah ok just this once) try setting a new default printer on the account(e.g. XPS/PDF printer), then print a text file to that then reset the default back to the real printer...that worked for me about one millenium ago on my old XP PC

Not much help from here, but just to clarify, can you see the pictures ok in the main account? It's just the printing that's misbehaving?
I was going to suggest an association glitch on the main account.

spud, you can see the pics fine in the main account in WPV, and also print them from within Paint or Photoshop....it's only from windows picture viewer on the main account that it's corrupting....

Is the corrupt account an admin user or is the other one an admin only

it's admin..... but due to the nature of useage and what's on there, transferring it all isn't an option unfortunately.....they're happy enough with the work-around, it's just bugging me

Clutching at straws, what about re-registering wpv?
