CV joint cost

Anyone know how much roughly to replace outer CV joint - Renault Megane II 1.6?

There's been a sort of clicking sound when turning and sometimes hear it when going from reverse to a forward gear, so I took the wheel off and noticed the cv boot had come off and had a cable tie in place as if someone had done a dodgy repair job!

Anyway, slapped some more high temp grease in there and can't really hear the noise when turning now but is still there when going from reverse gear to forward one.

I told the missus to drive carefully for now until we can get it booked in to a garage.

Don't know about the 2nd gen but with the first you could only buy a full shaft. If yours is the same a pattern part will be about £80/90 plus fitting - I could do this myself in a couple of hours so shouldn't take an actual mechanic any more than an hour or so.

Random guess at £150 all in

If it's just the CV boot the part will be £20 max, with 30mins-1hr labour.
