Tripp Luggage - Any Good?

Looked at hardside carry-on luggage for the first time recently, starting with the most expensive Samsonite at around £300 and couldn't believe how flimsy and underwhelming it was.

Today I bought a hardside Tripp medium case for my daughter for all of £50 (with 5 year guarantee) at Debenhams and quite honestly struggle to see what the difference between this and the 6 times more expensive Samsonite is, other than a TSA lock and nicer bits inside. They can all be opened by a ballpoint pen anyway, so security is irrelevant.

I don't mind paying extra for better quality, but am really struggling with why, other than slight snob value, anyone should need to spend £300 on the Samsonite (don't even mention Rimowa). Has anyone done a proper comparison?

I would never pay £300 for a suitcase - I mean you shouldnt check in anything valuable so the last thing Id want to do is make the suitcase valuable before I even packed anything in it!

Ive got a £50ish Tripp case too, and its been banged about in various airports (another reason not to get an expensive one) and so far never had any problems! I like them as they often come in patterns and that makes them so much easier to spot when theyre on the luggage belt.

Purchased 3 tripp cases, after about 18 months one developed a dodgy handle, called tripp.
Had to take a photo of the fault send it to them.
Courier arrived at my convenience collected the faulty case, choose a new one which arrived in less than a week - all free of charge.
    All cases still going strong.
Good customer service and in my opinion the 5 year guarantee will be honoured if they are faulty.
    Great customer service.
But if you travel with hand luggage only I would check this out from argos at £29.99

Another recomendation for Tripp, great cases and great customer service

I have a few Tripp cases. Only ever had a problem with one of them, the combination lock broke, I returned it to Debenhams without a receipt (about 2 years old) and without hesitation I was given a brand new case
