Finding out re husband's visa tomorrow

Hope this is in the right place. Just wanted a bit of moral support as tomorrow we find out if my husband has got his visa and we can finally return to the UK. We live in Spain and I am very unhappy here (I am British) especially in my job where people make my life hell and I am constantly upset, crying in bathroom etc. I am just so worried as if the visa is granted tomorrow it will honestly be life changing for me. And if we don't, then I just don't know what we will do, it will be awful :(

What kind of visa has he applied for Laura?

Fingers crossed for tomorrow - I remember how nerve-wracking my husband's settlement visa decision day was, and that was years ago now.

    Hi balletshoes,

    Thanks for your support.
We have applied for an EEA Family Permit which is usually only for Europeans but as I have been working here in Spain we are able to apply and it is under European law, so supposed to be much easier to get and it is also free. I am freaking out right now. My husband has a conviction from years ago (first and only) and also an attempt at illegally entering the UK so those are the reasons for my worries really. And it will be life changing not only because I am unhappy here but also my husband is not working at the minute and we are seriously struggling.

Have you both got work lined up in the UK, i presume so as you are trying for a baby in your other posts. If not, you will be struggling far worse than now as at least one of you has an income.

We are thinking about trying for a baby, not actually trying yet. This will of course be when we both have jobs in the UK, ideally. My husband has a job lined up in his cousin's business so he is sorted, I will look for a job which could take a while but not as long as it took here! Trust me, we could not be struggling worse than now! With my family in the UK supporting us things will be much easier for us.

Laura, the EEA family permit is not for Europeans, as Europeans do not need visas to travel about the EU. It is for non-European family members of Europeans - and you, as a British Citizen, are European.

Hope that it all goes well for you, let us know when you get it tomorrow.

Oops, yes, that is what I meant! But it is normally only for non european family members of a european national working or studying in the uk. It only applies to a non european family member of a british national when they are working in another eu country, not in the uk.

Living in Spain i presume he Spanish. As a national of a member of the EU he would not need a Visa.
He should have pretty much the same rights as a British national (except for voting in national elections)
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.
