You will definitely have to make sure you have the correct postage for a large letter but, regarding other postage, if you make sure you always buy stamps marked 1st or 2nd as opposed to having the actual price on them, they will always go at the current rate if when postage goes up in price.

  • I'm going to send a large letter. Could I get away with sticking on a standard 1st class letter stamp and a standard 2nd class letter stamp. The posts here seem to be talking about old stamps with a monetary value - I'd be using new stamps if it makes a difference.

In terms of cost they more than make up for the price of a 'large letter' stamp.

    Thanks in advance!

  • So long as it makes up the value of a large first class stamp then you can put on whatever combination of stamps you want - within reason as to surface area coverage!

  • Thanks Jane for your reply,
A large 1st class stamp is 61p and looking at the prices online a first and second class stamp are 39p and 30p.
So at 69p I should be fine.

    Cheers
